A covered walkway takes you to the Ameristar casino next door. There are restaurants available in the casino. Restaurants and sports bar in casino give10% discount for veterans, 20% on Monday. Get the special discount card at the casino cashier.

The meeting room is a large space on the ground floor. It has big windows overlooking the Missouri River. One of the things we liked about this room is the adjoining outside patio seating area where we can be right next to the meeting room.

Small refrigerators are included in each room.

There is a large indoor pool and hot tub.

REUNION ACTIVITY PACKAGE AND REGISTRATION

This year we will use the Reunion Package price method to pay for all expenses during the reunion.

The package includes the name tags, Hospitality Room with refreshments and audio/visual equipment, and free breakfast buffet for registered guests, plated lunch for four days and plated dinner for four evenings. Also included in the package are a planned tour of the SAC museum and two women's events, motor coach transportation, all taxes and gratuities for meals.

A special dinner and decorations will be provided for our Thursday night banquet.

PLANNED EVENTS FOR ATTENDEES

The D/1/6 board wants to provide two "Women's Only" events. We wish to recognize how important the women have been to us in the past, present and future.

MONDAY: Check-in to meeting room, lunch is on your own; the casino next door has multiple dining choices and provides discount for veterans. Dinner provided Monday evening.

TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY EVENTS:

A guided tour of the Strategic Air Command Museum. Bus transportation, tickets and gratuities included. We will also be visiting the Union Pacific Railroad Museum and we have some choices for the local Omaha zoo, the Lauritzen Gardens, and the local craft beer and axe throwing location. All highly rated and close by.

"Fairy Hair" event for the women. The Hair Fairy lady will be coming to our reunion to give us some sparkle. Fairy Hair are strands of tinsel that can be attached to the hair as colorful or shimmering extensions or temporary highlights. You can wash, brush, blow dry, flat iron, color, curl or perm - whatever you do with your own hair - it will not affect the fairy hair.

"Corky Canvas" event for the women. Canvas painting lessons with an autumn theme. Soft drinks or wine provided.

Randy Bordner has been having discussions and visited with the 168th Infantry at Council Bluffs.  SFC King has committed to being part of our reunion.

It will be Wednesday at 0900 to 1100. They will give us a good tour of their facility and show a lot of infantry equipment that is "sensitive" to us.

He has hum vees with missiles mounted and the full auto grenade launcher in addition to other infantry equipment. They have had at least one combat tour to Afghanistan.

This is should be a good outing for anyone that wants to go there.

Thursday evening banquet with service of remembrance by Pastor Karen Bordner.

FRIDAY: Breakfast and departure.

D COMPANY CHALLENGE COINS

During 2017 we designed and purchased the second 300 Challenge Coins with a new design for D Company. They went very fast at the reunion BUT we still have 70 left. If you didn’t get one go to our website, company store and get yours ASAP. We have passed the “break-even point” so purchases made are a donation to our Reunion Fund.

D COMPANY LICENSE PLATE This is a metal standard license plate size and fits on available brackets on your car. Can also be added to other displays or areas in your house, man cave.

DONATIONS

Donations allow D Company to stay in the black and do those extra things we expect: flowers for deceased members, wreath for Vietnam Wall reunion goodie bag, Shutterfly photo album, incorporation fees, postage and miscellaneous reunion and operation expenses.

D Company is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation and all donations are tax deductible. Donations may be sent to Larry Stovall at the above address. At the end of the year, you will receive a letter documenting your donation to D Company.

D COMPANY WEB SITE https://d-company1-6.org/home

This site includes whatever information we have for the unit and what you want on our site. History, KIA list with links to the Wall, 2500 pictures, video from Vietnam, reunion pictures and videos, reunion information and a company store which offers the items you have requested. Also included is the book Letters from Vietnam by the family of Gordon Wise.

One of the most exciting features on our website is an interactive Google map. Part of the map is a listing of firebases and the 700+ incidents that D Company was involved in.  Each incident, in chronological order, will link you to the location of that incident on the google map.

Special thanks go to Dennis Ashe who has designed and set up a Web Site for D Company.  Each year he maintains the site and makes updates of all the areas that change (and pays all the operating and registration costs).

FUNDING CONSTRAINTS

Your attendance at our reunions is our number one goal. If you are not able to come to the reunion due to funding constraints please contact our President, Gary Salpini, gary.salpini@gmail.com, and he will, in strictest confidence, provide financial assistance.  Each year we hear from several of our attendees and supporters and offer to provide financial assistance so we can get more members to attend. This is what we are about, brothers helping brothers.

QUESTIONS? Give Gary a call or drop him an email; don’t hesitate for a second. If you are sitting on the fence on whether to come, email Gary and he will give you 60 names that went through the same doubt and they will tell you it is the greatest thing they have done.

We have heard almost every excuse why you can’t come. "I can’t deal with it, I can’t face the guys I was in Vietnam with. I don’t know how it will affect me. I have issues", etc.  Please, please tell us and we will send you the names of 60+ guys and they will tell you how they felt the same way. If you have been telling your “war stories” all these years, sitting down with your brothers, will relieve burdens you have been carrying on your shoulders for so many years.

Come join us, we guarantee you will wish you had joined us sooner.
